Zach Petkewicz is a Polish-American hero and he is like the Casimir Pulaski of Virginia Tech. Liviu Librescu gave his life to save others and his family was decimated by the orders of the uncle of William Patrick Stuart-Houston. Waleed Shaalan is a hero of Egyptian origin and he is the only Muslim to die in the shootings. Trey Perkins is a stormin Norman (his last name is from Norman origin due to his name from Pierre de Morlais), Derek O'Dell (his middle name is Jefferson due to Thomas Jefferson's birthday), Katelyn Carney, and Erin Sheehan are true heroes saving many lives. Kevin Granata is the Italian-American hero gave his life to save many others. Jocelyn Couture-Nowak, a Quebecois heroine gave her life and Partahi Lumbatouran, an Indonesian Christian gave his life as well, Henry Jake Lee, formerly known as Henh P. To this day, it is hard for me to comprehend the senselessness of that horrific day. I came into town shortly after and stood on the drillfield in awe of all of the memorials. I was moved to tears when thoughts filled my mind as to what it would have been like if it had been one of us I was mourning for. Zach, your actions made me speechless. I am proud to call you a brother and I am thankful you were composed to handle the situation as you did.
